What You Will Learn:
Metal Fabricators cut, shape, bend, and assemble metal parts using blueprints and tools such as shears, presses, welders (MIG and TIG), grinders, and CNC machines, ensuring precision through careful measurement and quality checks. The Metal Fabricator Foundation program prepares students for this work by teaching the selection, layout, shearing, cutting, punching, drilling, forming, fitting, and welding of steel plates and structural steel used in industries like forestry, mining, construction, transportation, and agriculture. Through a blend of basic theory and hands‑on shop practice, students develop the skills needed to create steel buildings, tanks, equipment, and other fabricated products, building competence for entry‑level roles in industrial settings.

- work-based training hours towards Red Seal Certification

- grade 12 credits towards graduation
What You Can Expect:
SD83 pays for your tuition to attend full-time. Students pay for all ancillary fees, textbooks, and supplies. Students are responsible to arrange their own reliable transportation to and from campus. The program mixes theory, practical, and real-world shop training to prepare you for a career as an apprentice.
