What is Dual Credit?

Dual credit programs are tuition-free for students aged 15-18 who are currently enrolled in high school. They provide an opportunity for highly motivated students to pursue both high school graduation credits and post-secondary credits. The grades received in the course(s) will be included on the student's high school transcript and their post-secondary record.

Benefits:

In addition to getting an early start on your post-secondary education, School District 83 will cover the cost of your program tuition. *Please note that while the District covers the cost of tuition, students are responsible for student fees, textbooks, registration fees, transportation, and accommodations.

Student Requirements for Participating in Dual Credit Programs:

    • Students must be on a path to graduate.
    • Students must have a documented transition plan including English 12 and Career Life Connections 12
    • Students must satisfy any necessary pre-requisites for their chosen course.

Dual Credit Programs are available in both trade and academic areas, with support from various post-secondary partnerships.
