What You Will Learn:

This program prepares participants to work alongside teachers in the classroom to help reach educational goals and encourage child development. Students learn about school organization, working with and understanding children's study issues that arise in education, the role of Education Assistants in the classroom, general educational principles - particularly individualized instruction, cooperative learning, and skills necessary to implement modifications and adaptations of curriculum.


What You Can Expect:

This program is available at OC Penticton, Kelowna, Vernon and Salmon Arm and is delivered in a variety of ways: Face-to-face, Online synchronous, Online asynchronous, Online hybrid, and Blended. Contact your career coordinator to examine the delivery option and timing at each location. A 4-week practicum is a mandatory component of the program.





What You Will Earn:

    • 24 grade 12 credits towards graduation (6 courses)
    • Education Assistant Certificate (upon successful completion of the program)

    • English 12 (minimum 60%)
    • Clean criminal record check
  • Program Length:
    • 447-hours
  • Program Dates:
    • Apply in December for September intake
    • Apply in March for January intake

  • Ensuring your personal information is up to date (i.e email, resume, SIN, etc).
