What You Will Learn:

The Health Sampler program offers an engaging introduction to the diverse and rewarding world of health care through a mix of collaborative classroom learning, hands-on lab experiences, and interactive activities. Topics covered include, but are not limited to: Dental Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, Therapeutic Assistant Diploma, Pharmacy Technician Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Human Service Worker, Human Kinetic Diploma, Medical Device Reprocessing.

What You Need to Know:

  • The Sampler Program is open to students in grades 10-12.
  • You must apply in the Spring (March) to be eligible for the Fall intake.
  • The program takes approximately 4 months to complete.
  • You will earn 4 high-school grade 12 elective credits towards graduation upon successful completion of the program.
  • You will attend OC VERNON campus two evenings per week (Tuesdays/Thursdays) and some Saturdays for hands-on labs. There are also field trips, and some online material presented through Okanagan College’s Moodle platform.

  • Ensuring your personal information is up to date (i.e email, resume, SIN, etc).
