UBC is Coming to Enderby Later This Month

Posted on 2024-10-04 07:00:00 +0000 UTC

Two UBC Faculties from its Vancouver Campus will be hosting a full-day event at Al Fortune Secondary in October.

The University’s Land & Food Security division as well as its Forestry faculty will be at the high school on Tuesday, October 29th. The faculties will be giving program information sessions, how to apply to the departments and will host many interactive workshops for students to participate in. Students with an interest in Agriculture, Food, Science or Forestry Careers are strongly encouraged to attend. A major focus of the event is examining sustainability whether it involves animal welfare, food security, natural resources or general health.

All Grade 10-12 students from all district high schools are eligible to attend and bussing will be provided from those schools to go to AL Fortune for the day. If a student is interested in attending, they need to go to their neighbourhood high school’s career centre to pick up a parent permission form. Once they have that in, they will have to register with UBC for the event. If you wish more details about this Careers event or others, please text or call George Richard at 778-824-1188 or you can email grichard@sd83.bc.ca.
