Tourism & Hospitality Spotlight Next Month

Time for a vacation? For some SD83 students, it might become their mantra for a career in the Tourism and Hospitality sector.

SD83 Careers and Go2HR, a leisure industry human resources agency, are hosting an event at the Prestige Harbourfront Resort in Salmon Arm on Friday, March 8th. Up to 45 students will be at the hotel and surrounding area for the day. Activities include a talk from TRU’s Tourism and Hospitality Faculty, a panel discussion with local and regional industry leaders in the field, a “back-of-scenes” tour of the Prestige, inactive games, lunch and a walk of the Salmon Arm Wharf where the students might encounter a bit of a surprise for the afternoon. Students will also have an opportunity to meet some local businesses at the event where they can apply for potential work in the summer.
