Posted on 2024-10-11 07:00:00 +0000 UTC

SD83 Careers and UBC-O’s School of Nursing will be hosting information sessions about its program next month.

There will be two events taking place in the district at two high schools. On Monday, November 4th, AL Fortune in Enderby will be sponsoring the event at 10AM while Salmon Arm Secondary will host the next session at 9:30AM the following day. Bussing will be provided for PVSS students to attend on the 4th and JL Jackson and Eagle River Secondary students can get transportation to SAS for the 5th.

An official with UBC-O’s School of Nursing will be in attendance to talk about the on-going shortage of nurses within BC’s health care sector, the types of care environments available for work as well as admission requirements to the school and other program information. Students interesting in attending a session needs to get a parent to sign a permission form from their school’s career department. If you wish more information about the event, please discuss with the school’s career coordinator or you can contact George Richard at 778-824-1188 via text or phone or email him at grichard@sd83.bc.ca.
