SD83 Students To Check Out Forestry Careers
SD 83 Careers, the Council of Forest Industries (COFI) and Interfor are hosting students to attend the Adams Lake Sawmill in the North Shuswap on March 1st. The event is gear towards Grade 10-12 students living in the northern part of the district (Salmon Arm Secondary, JL Jackson Secondary and Eagle River Secondary).
24 students will arrive at the mill in the morning. Activities for the day include a safety talk and strapping on the safety equipment, a walking tour of the sawmill and planer mill followed by questions and lunch. The bus will leave the site in the afternoon to return students in time for the last class of the day and week.
If you or your student is interested in attending the event, they can visit the career centre at their school to pick up a permission form.
