SD83 Students Examine More Health Care Careers Next Month.

Posted on 2024-02-09 08:00:00 +0000 UTC

School District 83 Careers and the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologist (CAMRT) will be hosting a province-wide virtual seminar next month exploring this specific field of care.

The event will take place on Thursday, March 7th at 12:50PM. Students will learn from industry experts on their career journeys, the courses and programs taken in high school and post-secondary to get to their chosen career, and describe a day in the life in their field. These professionals are in the fields of Radiography, MRI Technology, Nuclear Medicine, and Sonography.

For the SD83/CAMRT March 7th session, students can choose to attend virtually themselves by registering and receiving the link at their neighbour school’s career office or there may be a teacher within the school that may wish to log onto the session for the whole class to view.

This session continues a series of events featuring careers in the health care sector. On February 22nd, an official with BC’s Emergency Health Services will speak to parents and students at JL Jackson about next year’s Emergency Medical Responder course. Another session, still to be confirmed, will include a tour of Interior Health facilities throughout the Salmon Arm area.

If you wish more details about the event or wish to share other ideas for seminars or field trips, please contact George Richard at 778-824-1188 via text or phone or email grichard@sd.bc.ca.
