SD83 Students Attending Regional Career Fair in April

Students from Salmon Arm Secondary’s Sullivan and Jackson campuses, as well as Eagle River Secondary in Sicamous, will be attending the area’s largest spring hiring fair this month.

The Work BC Inclusive Seminar and Job Fair will take place at the Prestige Harbourfront Resort in Salmon Arm on Tuesday, April 18th between 9:30 am-3 pm. Students and members of the public can attend the free seminar where there will be keynote speakers and information sessions about job opportunities and resources. Funding is available for inclusive hiring and retention for employers. Work BC Job Developer Candice Benner says exhibitor spaces is already sold out so there will be plenty of opportunities for students to hand out resumes and meet potential employers for summer work.

Students from the three high schools can attend the seminar and job fair by simply getting a permission form their school career centre and getting that form signed by their parents to attend the afternoon portion of the event.
