SD83 Parents as Career Coaches
Parents have long been a guide to assist their children into the world of work and future education. Now, SD83 parents can attend a virtual session to help them help their kids.
SD83 and EducationPlannerBC are teaming up again to host a workshop on Tuesday, October 15th to help parents learn more how you navigate the educational landscape for further post secondary education for the child. The session will run from 6:30-7:45PM. The workshop is gear for Grades 10-12 students and their parents but parents of younger students are welcome to attend as well.
Topics to be discussed include learning about program admission requirements and application dates for some post-secondary institutions, cost of programs, financial aid options, and learning about different resources you can use through EducationPlannerBC. Learn about post-secondary education and career opportunities, as well as tools to best support your student in planning for their future. You can learn how to create an EducationPlannerBC account, save programs, paths, and careers to My List, and apply to post-secondary institutions in B.C.
