SD83 Digging for More Mineral Exploration Careers

Posted on 2025-04-22 07:00:00 +0000 UTC

It’s groundbreaking!

For the first time in BC’s Southern Interior, MineralsEd is hosting a conference for Grade 10-12 students curious about careers in the Mining and Minerals Exploration sector. The event will take place in Kamloops at Moccasin Square Garden on Wednesday, May 21st.

The M.I.N.E Conference (Mining Industry’s Next Explorers) will showcase diverse career opportunities available in the minerals industry through a collection of industry booths and educational activities. Mining companies, geoscience organizations, and postsecondary institutions from across the region will be present
with interactive booths and displays. Additionally, MineralsEd will be facilitating several educational activities about geoscience, mining, and mineral exploration. This event is ideal for students looking into post-secondary options in the trades, engineering or natural sciences and for those interested in directly entering the workforce after high school.

Students interested in going on this trip need to visit their high school career office for more information and to pick up a parent permission form. If you wish to learn more about this opportunity or have other ideas for field trips, please contact JL Jackson Career Coordinator Greg Seed at gseed@sd83.bc.ca.
