SD83 Careers Talk With Salmon Arm Industry Leaders This Month

Salmon Arm’s Industrial Park Lunch & Learn Series comes back for another year and, this year, SD83 will be on the menu.

SD83’s Director of Instruction for Secondary Education Reid Findlay and Career Education Coordinator George Richard will talk to attendees about the district’s desire to build partnerships with local industry to support locally sourced careers. Topics include the SD83’s strategic priorities when it comes to career development, the provincial government and EMC’s Youth in Manufacturing Initiative, a potentially-expanded work experience initiative and growth in local technology education through a dual credit partnership with Okanagan College.

The talk will take place at Okanagan College’s Trades campus in Salmon Arm on Thursday, September 26th. Okanagan College and the Salmon Arm Economic Development Society will sponsor the event.
