Parents As Career Coaches
SD83 Careers has another opportunity for parents to learn more about how they can guide by the side of their student regarding career exploration.
Education Planner BC will be sponsoring an event next month geared towards parents and their Grade 8-12 students who are interested in doing more career exploration beyond what SD83 students are exposed to when it comes to MyBlueprint. The session will take place on Tuesday, October 21st between 6:30-7:45PM virtually. A link to register for the event has been provided below.
Parents from SD83 and eight other school districts across the southern interior will be able to access the event. Students and parents will be welcomed to explore the website and learn about post-secondary education, career opportunities, and resources to support students in future planning. The information will be especially helpful for families with students in grades 10-12.
You will have a chance to search thousands of programs, get to know trades, and discover other career paths. Participants will also find helpful resources, including financial aid options, admission requirements, FAQs, and a Glossary. You will learn how to create an account, save programs, paths, and careers to My List, and apply to post-secondary in B.C.
If you have any more questions about the event, please contact George Richard at 778-824-1188 via text or voice or you can email grichard@sd83.bc.ca.
