Experience OC Back Again for SD83 Students
SD83 Grade 10-12 Students will get a chance to experience a bit of College Life next month.
SD83 and Okanagan College Salmon Arm will have the third annual “Experience OC” event on Tuesday, May 6th. The students will have a chance to talk with professors and tour the campus for the half-day event. Starting now, students can view an array of different short classes taught by OC instructors and then sign up for two of these courses for that day. Students can choose courses in the arts, business, science, civil engineering, health & social development and trades among other offerings.
Okanagan College Salmon Arm will be a busy place with SD83 students the week before. On April 30th and May 2nd, over five-hundred Grade Eight students will descend on the college for an Explore OC event where student get to check out the campus and learn about the different educational possibilities that await them following grade school.
Students need a signed parent permission form first to register for the event. They can approach their school-based career coordinator to pick up those forms. If you wish more details, don’t hesitate to reach out to the school’s career coordinator or contact District Career Education Coordinator George Richard at grichard@sd83.bc.ca or text or phone 778-824-1188.
