Engineering Field Trip Next Month

Some SD83 students have a chance to build some solid knowledge towards Engineering careers.

SD83 Careers and Thompson River University’s Faculty of Engineering will be hosting a full day event at Salmon Arm Secondary School on Friday, November 7th. The event will feature SD83 and TRU alumni speaking out about their careers in the field. There will also be a couple of interactive stations where Grade 10-12 students can do some hands-on work. There will be an emphasis on Computer Software Engineering at the event, but other fields will be discussed and demonstrated as well. A maximum of 45 students are allowed to participate in the four-hour event and lunch will be provided to those students.

If students are interested in attending, they should contact their high school’s career office to get a parental permission form.
