Doctors in the House Next Month for a Career Exploration Cure

SD83 Careers and UBC’s Faculty of Medicine will be hosting a session with high school students interested in the demanding but rewarding career of Medicine.

Interested students will travel to Pleasant Valley Secondary School on Tuesday, December 10th to learn more about the profession from four or five UBC Medical students. In the morning session, students will learn about the requirements, time and suggested pathways to be able to enter the faculty. As well, students will have an opportunity to learn some hands-on medicine from the ambassadors as equipment will be brought in for the high school students to explore.

Students interested in participating in the event are asked to get a parent permission slip for their high school’s careers office and return it to the career coordinator or career clerk in the office to be able to go on the tour. Travelling students will miss a maximum of three classes that day.
