Checking Out Farm Life As A Career

SD 83 Careers and BC Agriculture in the Classroom (BCAITC) are hosting a full-day field trip for students next month.

The trip will take place on Thursday, October 2nd and will involve with two stops around Salmon Arm and a third in Grindrod. Lakeland Farms, Elderberry Grove and Farmer John’s will showcase diverse career opportunities available in the agriculture industry. Students will also have an opportunity to hear from experts at interactive booths and displays, promoting the wide variety of agriculture-based careers

The event would like to see Grade 10-12 students that are interested in careers in Agriculture, Finance, Agritech/Robotics or the Trades. A maximum of 40 students are allowed on the trip. Interested students are encouraged to visit their school’s Career Centre to get a permission form. The permission form deadline is Wednesday, September 24th. All students that get in their permission forms before September 24th and fill out an evaluation sheet at the end of the tour will be put in a draw to win one of two $15 Starbuck gift cards at the event!
