Building Students Knowledge of Engineering Careers
School District 83, along with the British Columbia Institute of Technology, will be hosting a province-wide virtual seminar later this month exploring different engineering careers.
The event will take place on Tuesday, November 28th at 2:15PM. BCIT School of Energy Development Manager Marko Vicic will conduct the session outlining the courses needed to enter post-secondary, various programs to apply for and the careers that could be attained in the field. Engineering disciplines to be discussed include mechanical, electrical, civil, mining and mineral resources, and mechatronics and robotics, among others.
Students can choose to attend virtually themselves by registering and receiving the link at their neighbour school’s career office or there may be a teacher within the school that may wish to log onto the session for the whole class to view. If you wish more details about the event or wish to share other ideas for seminars or field trips, please contact George Richard at 778-824-1188 via text or phone or email grichard@sd.bc.ca.
