ALF Hosts UBC Next Month

Two University of BC Faculties from its Vancouver Campus will be co-hosting a full-day event with SD83 Careers at AL Fortune Secondary in Enderby in November.

The University’s Land & Food Security division as well as its Forestry faculty will be at the high school on Tuesday, November 4th. The faculties will be giving program information sessions, how to apply to the departments and will host many interactive workshops for students to participate in. Students with an interest in Agriculture, Food, Science or Forestry Careers are strongly encouraged to attend. A major focus of the event is examining sustainability whether it involves animal welfare, food security, natural resources or general health.

All Grade 10-12 students from all district high schools are eligible to attend but the event is capped at 50 students. Buses will be provided for students from other schools to attend the event. Lunch is also provided. If a student is interested in attending, they need to go to their neighbourhood high school’s career centre to pick up a parent permission form.
