It’s believed to be a first-of-its kind event ever to take place with one of our founding railway companies.
The newly-merged Canadian Pacific-Kansas City Railway, along with SD83’s Careers Department, will host a hiring fair at Eagle River Secondary Friday morning, May 26th. It is believed to be the first time, in Western Canada at least, that the railway company has established a high school job fair targeting specifically Grades 10-12 students.
Interested students from PVSS, Al Fortune and SAS-Jackson and Sullivan, along with Revelstoke Secondary students, will descend upon Eagle River Secondary to go through a presentation about the railway and the various types of jobs available within the trans-national transportation corporation. From there, students will get to visit several interactive booths displaying some of CPKC’s latest technology and movable machinery. Students outside of Eagle River Secondary will return to attend their afternoon classes.

Students who are interested are asked to register with their school-based career coordinator and also pick up a parent slip. If you wish further details, you can talk with one or the school-based career coordinators or you can email George Richard at grichard@sd83.bc.ca. He can also be texted or phoned at 778-824-1188.
